Athletic/Activities Registration Information

Dear Parent/Guardian,

Registration for sports/activities for the 2019-20 school year, will be open as of July 1, 2019.  To register your student athlete for high school sports teams/activities, please go directly to (different from last year) or go to and click on the Athletics/Activities tab on the right side of the screen and you will be taken directly to the site for registration.  Look for the Registration tab and follow the directions.  If you did not create a family account last school year, that will be your first step in the registration process.  Otherwise, you will be able to use your family account from the previous year.  For step-by-step instructions, please look at the FAQs sheet. If, after reading the FAQs sheet, you need help in registering your student athlete or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Athletic Department at 815-335-2336.  You may talk to either the Athletic Director at ext. 2144 or the Athletic Department Secretary at ext. 2143.

Athletic fees for the 19-20 school year will remain the same:  1st sport $75; 2nd sport $75; 3rd sport is free.  The most you will pay in a school year for athletics is $150 per student athlete.  Athletic/Activity fees may be paid with your child’s 19-20 school registration fees, through Efunds or by cash/check to the high school office. You will not pay your child’s sports fee on The athletic website will show that there is a $0 fee for all sports which only means that they are not collecting the sports fees for Winnebago.  Fees still apply; just not through the athletic website.

If you would like to get notifications/alerts via text or email, please read the enclosed FAQs sheet on how to set this up.  There is also a feature that will allow you to receive the calendar(s) of your choice on your smart phone, tablet or computer and they will automatically update with any changes made from the Athletic Department.

Other Important Information to Keep in Mind

  • Your child’s 2019-20 Instructional Material fee must be paid in full in order for your child to try out/participate in any athletics or activities at WHS ($195).
  • Each student athlete must have a current physical on file in order to try out for a team or to participate in any practices.  Sports physicals are kept in the Athletic Department.  School physicals are kept in the nurse’s office.  If you are not sure about your child’s physical date, please contact the A.D. secretary at the high school for this information. Physicals are good for 13 months.
  • If your student athlete is a 9th grader, you do not need to get a separate sports physical.  Their school physical will cover their sports participation requirement.  However, a sports physical will not cover their school physical.

The Athletic Department will once again be offering a night this summer to bring your student athlete for their sports physical. The date of the physicals is Friday, July 12, 2019, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm and it will be held at the MERCY HEALTH WINNEBAGO CLINIC, 102 Lankmark Drive, Winnebago.  The cost is $25.  This is open to any middle school student (7th & 8th grades) and high school student (10th through 12th grades) even if they do not attend Winnebago schools.  If your student is from Winnebago, the sports physical will be kept by the physician.  If you would like a copy, just call the A.D. secretary and make that request.  If you know of a student that does not attend Winnebago schools, they can still take advantage of this offer.  The cost is the same, they will just need to tell the physician that they do not attend Winnebago and need to take their physical with them.  Please keep in mind that we do not keep copies of the sports physicals that leave with the athlete.  All sports physicals should be turned in to the A.D. secretary at WHS or uploaded on the sports website should your child have their exam done elsewhere.

This past school year brought much success for many of our teams here at Winnebago.  As an athletic director, it is encouraging to see student athletes mature within their chosen sport(s) and as an individual.  The Athletic Department firmly believes that the various lessons a student learns from participating in sports/extra circular activities are lifelong lessons.  I am looking forward to another year of growing and successful student athletes here at Winnebago.
